Hey folks, this here is a knife i finished up for myself, so the polish isnt the quality that I normally do on my knives, it is just a belt finish, and there is a scratch just in front of the handle on the one side.
The sheath is also comes with this one, the knife fits in there pretty good. The sheath does show some wear and is broken in, but even so is a real nice heavy duty sheath.
The knife is some W1 i forged and has been clay quenched and etched to show a pretty decent hamon line.
This one was used before I did the final finish on it and etching with just a cord wrap, I was playing around with different styles of blade for a cutting competition knife for this summer. I only practiced with it maybe 6 times, and it did very well, then I etched added the scales and hollow tube pins. It was never used again after cleaning up and etching.
measures 14 3/4'' overall and has a 9 1/2'' cutting edge. The stock I forged was 5/16'' thick, so the spine is over 1/4'' thick, and tapers both ways from the ricasso. Also has a rounded off spine.
This would make an excellent camp knife, or gift for someone in the military.
