One item survival

I could take along a Mistwalker also if a Mewolf wasn't available. So there is that option. :D

Us mistwalkers are getting old and hard to find...particularly when we know we are being looked for :D

I wouldn't partner up with a greenhorn who was easily found anyway. "Hyar pilgrim! Kin ye skin a bar?" I have slapped a deer on the ass before.

Matches, lighter some means to start a fire. This was the answer given to us in a 2 week military survival school. Most guys answered with a tool with a cutting edge, wrong answer. A means of fire was the answer.

Satellite phone fer sure

There is no wrong answer, it depends on your skill set and knowledge. I can start a friction fire easier than I can make a stone cutting tool or do all the tasks you'd use a cutting tool for without a cutting tool. Other guys may practice flit-napping as a hobby but have never heard of a bow drill. Environment is going dictate the most useful items also.

Little machete for me. But that shouldn't be surprising.

Your pack golok would be a darn good choice for the SE US. That would be my second choice. Love that little beast.

I'd want Justin Bieber with me. The nation would immediately go into Emergency Freakout Mode and I'd be found in a matter of hours. Nothing matters more to this nation than tween fashion idols, so I'm going with the grain on this one.

For me I think I'd like a range rover. Then I could drive to find other stuff in style and jam to some tunes on the fancy sound system on the way.

I carry a lot of crap in my pockets but let's say I was wearing my swim trunks and got lost with no pockets full of my regular EDC gear I'd like my BK16 knife. If I was in a wilderness situation I could make a bow drill set, get a fire going, and warm myself up and cook some fresh salmon I speared down by the river. Also skin that bear I trapped and make a nice jacket.

If I found myself in an urban environment lost with just swim trunks on then I think the knife would just get me arrested so in that scenario I opt for my iPhone so I could call for a ride pronto! :D

The situation would have to be pretty severe to find me with nothing but 1 item to rely on but if it did arise and I could choose my 1 item it's going to be a Busse TMDSF:

Good all rounder and strong enough to take any abuse I may need to put it through.

Spot tracker gps. Cheaper than a sat phone, and while everyone is worrying about survival for an unknown period of time, I know that help is on the way, and to do the minimum to ensure my safety.

Leatherman Surge kit I have. Bit kit, surge, streamlight microstream and the extender with the file and a hack saw blade in the little plastic sheath.

You probably would die from being annoyed before anyone found you both.

One item? I'll take a M1 Abrams tank!

For realzies I'll take my Randall 14. with its sheath of course...

Where do you teach primitive skills?--KV

Sorry for the late response, I work at a Boy Scout camp here in CT and I teach fire building, axe and knife skills, primitive tool making, coal burning, tracking, trapping and snaring among other things
