One knife for a week in the woods

This question comes up every once in a while in one form or the other, and to me it's simple. A BK9. Vesatile and capable.

If there might be Shelter building required it would be my bk9
If no shelter then I think I would choose my bk2 it will do everything I could need done ( except Heavy Chopping) As well as the 9. And in an emergency I could make the bk2 a pretty fair chopper.

Speking of my 9 just did liners picked the color in honor of someones new truck
They are cut from a bottle of Aussie Shampoo ( my daughters not mine)
A thanks to Antdog for giving me the idea to use something like this after his turned out so good.

Bk10. About the same blade length as the Bk2, but with a thinner thickness. Does everything I've asked it to with no complaints.

If I had a Bk4, might go with that.

I'm not going into the woods with one knife, but if I had to it would be my Matchax. Our my OKC Kukri.

Bk4 MACHAX!!!!!!!!!!

I still think its Ethan's best design. The 9 may chop a little better, but the 4 is so well balanced for detail work as well as chopping. You can do fine carving and choke up on the blade without straining your wrist at all.

Bk4 by a landslide...

I wouldn't have said it a year ago...but I've really started to love the Machax. I'd have to go with that as my one-week blade, for sure. The BK10 would be tempting, but I think the BK4 has a little more going for it.
