I don't know if this has been asked before but if you could only carry and use one knife for a full year, what knife in your current collection would it be.I would pick my lightfoot millenium 458,mainly due to the fact it is small enough for daily carrying but has the strength for hiking and backpacking chores.

There have been posts similar to this, but yours has a slight twist that I like, the limit of one year, that would be interesting!

Sitting here and deciding which knife?
Well I'd have to say my small Sebenza with wood inlay and BG42 blade.

But only for a year! then back to all the other ones.

I might try your question, with the modification of the term length being a month and see if I can do that!

Thanks for the challenge Clipper!

Wow, that is a bit of a puzzler. I'd be torn between two or three different knives and it would be very hard to choose. HMMMM.

Easy. Benchmade AFCK. It's what I carry nine out of ten days anyway. Might as well make it ten.

Of my current knives, huh? Benchmade 730 or 140HS. I would prefer carrying a fixed blade (140HS), but I might have to go with the folder (730) to keep the level of annoyance by scared sheeple down a bit.

My small Sebenza, because that's what I carry almost every day now.

I would go with either an AFCK or maybe a Stryker. Probably the AFCK because it serves a better utilitarian purpose.

If I may modify the question a bit....

For Fixed Blade:

It would be my Ed Fowler Proghorn

For Folder:

Large Sebenza

For Multitool:
Leatherman Wave

If you were to twist my arm and give me a nuggie until I told you out of the above three which it would be I'd have to say the Sebbie.

God, I love these kind of thread.

Kevin, it might be my Larry Chew D/A Micro (2 inch blade) Spitfire when I get it next month.

If I owned one, I would choose a Small Sebenza, based on all that I have come to understand from these forums.

If I had to choose one from my present collection, I would have to choose my AG Russel Damascus lockback with wooden handles. Easy to sharpen, looks great, fits nicely in any pocket, cuts about anything I need it to(I don't do a lot of heavy-duty stuff).

If I had a choice it would be a large Sebenza but 1) I don't own a large Sebenza and 2) it would be illegal to carry a large Sebenza in Michigan so therefore, my choice is, ta da, a small Sebenza.

Yeah, I'm just one of the crowd, those annoying, smug, slightly crazed, Sebenzanistas. Truth is I've just lost interest in other daily carry folders (my Wenger Jr. has been kinda lonely lately, just lying there on the dresser--a lonely backup knife)

. This one is solid and has the kind of blade geometry I need for most of what I do on a daily basis with a knife. Liner locks no longer appeal to me, all the axis lock knives have kinda fat blades. The only thing left is to buy custom or...I got it...buy another Sebenza! A large one!

Since it is new, I guess my small Sebenza. Really any knife around 3" would do. If I could have only one knife, I'd want it to be fairly small so I wouldn't have too many legal hassles. Also, as college educator, I don't need to whip out a Military or Commander to open packages or envelopes. That would scare all of my colleagues.

Kershaw Avalanche. I carry it most of the time anyway.
