Hey everyone,

Need some help choosing my next knife. I’m looking for a compact folder that will basically be my main companion for the whole summer — the knife that ends up in my pocket 99% of the time.
The four I’m considering:
  • DPx HEAT Leggaro
  • Demko Nano Shark Stealth
  • Spyderco Lil’ Native SPY27
  • Spyderco MicroJimbo Salt MagnaCut
I already have some larger favorites (Small Sebenza 31, Benchmade 940 BK-03, Mini Adamas, Demko AD20/AD20.5 (3v both), Para 3 cru-carta, Pro Tech Strider pt+ etc.), so I’m specifically interested in something smaller and easier to carry without feeling under-knifed.
For those who own or have carried these — which one would you trust as your everyday summer companion, and why?
Looking for real-world experience: pocket comfort, ergos, cutting performance, durability, and anything you only notice after carrying one for a while.

Thanks!

I have a MicroJimbo in 15V. If a wharncliffe is good for your intended tasks, then it's a good choice. It weights about 3 ounces

The Nano Shark Stealth or the Lil Native might be more practical blade shapes depending on your need. The Lil Native will probably be the lightest option, and I believe the blade is a tad longer than the MicroJimbo if I recall correctly. I know nothing about DPx knives.

The wharncliffe blade is the one I am missing in my collection 😃 we'll see 😁 thanks!

Manix 2 LW Salt Magnacut

Been carrying since it arrived . Usually with a larger folder or fixed .

But this is so much more handy , it gets used the most often .

Great steel and HT . Very rust resistant. Perfect for summer sweat etc .

Love the light weight and ergonomics. Carries compact, but works big enough for most light EDC chores .

Ball bearing lock is my fav from Spyderco . :thumbsup:

The MJ is about 2.25" of edge...so keep that in mind, and has a very fine tip. It'll be great for slicing and piercing, but don't expect the tip to stand up to abuse. I'm happy with mine. As most of my knives are considerably larger.

Will definitely grab one later. I prefer the magnacut salt or cru-carta. But for now i want a smaller, urban friendly knife 😃

Yes indeed, I want a sub 2.5 inch, legal almost everywhere. I am fully covered with all my other, larger knives 😁

From your list then : Can't go far wrong with those Spyderco or Demko ! ☺️

The DPx brand , just no direct experience for me .

In the summer, going to the beach, sweating, cutting fruit the Salt series is my friend.

Out of your list, the Lil Native will be the most hand & pocket friendly. The DPx has that glass breaker on the end which might poke your palm in use. The Demko Nano looks like a lot of hot spots to me. I like the Shark Cub much better. The MicroJimbo is a close second to the Lil Native. Good luck with whatever you select.
