One knife in your pocket every day? Or do you rotate?

The only given that is on me no matter what from day to day is my Swiss Tool Multi Tool. Thats always on my belt period. The rest get rotated and you never know what I'll have on my right pocket in the way of a one hand opening pocket clip equipped knife or a traditional knife in my left pocket. Even I couldn't tell you what I'll have on me tomorrow other than the Swiss Tool. Such is the life of a knife nut I guess! :D

I keep the same knife in my pocket unless I find something better to replace it.

Only time I make a switch is when I go to the woods. Out comes the Manix 2, in goes the F1 & SAK combo.

Flavors are the name of the game. I change flavors ever so often within a rotation I have devised. Once in my right front pocket I keep a particular knife for a few weeks in order to get used to it, then switch it out for another one. My left front pocket carries a slippy that usually doesn't change as nearly as often as my other.:)

I'm a 2 to 3 knife a day guy plus a multi-tool... I know, overkill...

Ovrkill- There is no substitute.

Same boat. a couple extra knives don't add much weight. I carry one that hasn't been sharpened lately, or one I don't sharpen often- the one I hand to someone who asks to borrow my knife- My "normal" knife; a Seb or a 710 M4, and the one for special applications, My Carter necker.

Rotate, Rotate, Rotate... I could keep going but I don't see the need. I have cut out almost all clipped/one hand opening knives from my collection. Slippies, other traditional knives, and fixed blades for me.

I have 3 knives that I EDC.

I rotate them so that I can deploy them well, my muscle memory is down cold and I'll know exactly what to expect out of each knife. Take your pick! :D

I use to rotate everyday. Mainly my Spyderco CF Manix2, ParaMilitary, Gayle Bradley, Izula and a couple other. Then I got a Sebenza and 5 Sebenzas later that's all I carry.

I rotate. I've tried carrying just one but I am too much of a knife slut.

My rotation (currently)

Emerson CQC-11
Strider Sng
Spyderco Leafstorm
SwampRat Swamp Warden
SanRenmu 710 (yep, thats right)

I've always been a one knife guy and have been carrying my Kershaw Blackout for the last 7 years. Until a few months ago I misplaced it for a couple weeks. After carrying no knife or a 4" Gerber fixed blade I decided to buy another, so I picked up a Leek. The day after I found my Blackout :) So I now carry the Leek about 15%, Gerber about 5% and the Blackout about 80% I still have to make a conscious effort to slip the leek into my pocket or the Gerber onto my belt. (first post :D)

Its good to switch them out, otherwise it makes no sense to have others if your not going to carry them, unless its a rare piece..

I rotate, although my black & silver Kershaw Blur gets carried WAY more than the rest. That is going to change on the 25th though :D

My basic set-up is Small Sebenza (front pocket), Umnumzaan (in my satchel), and Izula (around my neck). But if the occasion calls for it, I mix it up a bit

I don't have a rotation, I just carry the same two knives. Pocket knife in my front pocket, fixed blade in my back pocket.

I'm a Creature of habit.

Well, my BM707 in S30V is almost always IWB @ 1 'o clock - and the others knives are rotating... It's quite rare that i leave that at home - the other knives are larger and would be in other spots, the 707 doesn't annoy me a bit, so why take it out? ;)

I semi-rotate. I EDC a HAK, but the folder may be a different knife, day to day. When I'm off work, I also carry a slip-joint & those are definitely rotated.

The only semi-constant I have, is a Buck of some type on my belt. I usually rotate through my 110's and my Alpha Dorado collection. As for the RF pocket, anything goes.

well I do rotate my knives of any kind
like to try different patterns, marerials, ergonomics

some get more attention some less, some for light some for heavier work, often it depends on wehre I'm going and what I'll/may do

I'll have to plead guilty to both part A & part B.
Yes, I have one knife in my pocket every day.
And yes I rotate. Well not me, my EDC choice rotates.
#1 is my Opinel No.6 carbon due to lightweight and overall usefulness.
#2 is SAK Cadet when duties as assigned might require more than a blade.
#3 is Case 63032cv just because I like having it around.
#4 is Queen 9105 Jack, certain things I only use this one for.
(no, not earwax removal)
#5 Schrade USA Switchit, lighweight good back pocket one hander usually
tote when outside doing yardwork.
#6 6347 redbone pre70 holidays carry.

In some small way I hope this helps in your research project.

I've rotated three knives. From 1960 - ~1970, I carried a small yellow Case. From ~1970 - ~2000, I carried an old Schrade. From ~2000 - present, I've carried a CRK Sebenza. After all that, I'll probably just stick with the Sebenza until I die...then my son can carry it for the rest of his life.
