One Knife ( maybe for life ? )

One knife is a no Brainer, the Military.

However I would never own just one model. I put forethought into what blade type and length for different periods of time. I frequently change blade types and scale types throughout the day.

Harronek, will you be intending on also picking up the Wharncliffe variant when it becomes available?

How about a Lil' Matriarch? I really enjoy mine, although I don't carry it quite as often as my Delica, but more often than my Kahr Delica...

Nice Ken, a man with a purpose, very encouraging to read your thoughts on this.

Myself, I've been, as others have, looking for THE knife, without much success, good to see someone that has narrowed it down to a small Clan of variations of the same folder, basically one folder as you pointed out, very cool idea.

As some may remember, a very long time ago now, my first Spyderco was a Delica, blue handled and full serrations, sold directly across a small table at the Ashokan Seminar by Mr Glesser himself, I remember clearly opening the knife and slicing through some crumpled receipt paper, knife didn't hesitate or hang up, but cut quite cleanly through, which I smiled greatly as did Sal :) He had visited that year and brought a box of things he thought we all might like and was correct.

But that one I know not of it's final destination, as it has long since been gone from memory as to what happened with it. Which brings us to now, Ken's posts had me searching for a Delica to try out again and I wanted to see a version with the Hap40 steel. Got one, very nice knife, but overall it was small for my needs and I moved her along.

Nothing at all wrong with the knife or steel, which was pretty cool lamination, just wasn't THE one for me. Right now I'm sporting the Manix 2 in Maxamet steel and will make a report after a bit of use, slightly larger than the Delica and suits my needs better, handle is also a bit thicker as well.

So, good on ya Ken, you'll need to take a nice photo with the blades open as well, in a neat pattern ;)

These days I alternate between a HAP4o Delica and an S110V Native 5 LW. I own a few other knives, but it seems I rarely carry them anymore--I just find that the Delica/Native LW size and weight is just enough for me. At the moment I'm preferring the Native, but not by much.

I quite like the Delica. I've owned two. My daughter lost the waved one, and I kept the stainless one as my EDC until I lost it this summer. Replaced it with a Sage 2, which I love inordinately.

I preordered the Wharncliffe, and greatly anticipate its arrival.

The delica is a fine knife, but i prefer the caly in a knife that size.

And one knife? CRAZY talk.

Its great to see all the different ideas and opinions , " One Knife " isn't for everyone .
Today being New Years Day It's one of those rare days when I carry something else and break the rules , so I chose what I call my Delica 3.5
