Thanks for the comments guys. Lorien I appreciate the feedback and had considered some of those options. My thinking was that a vampire hunter would fall into the pseudo cowboy mentality of simple user and that too many embellishments would make it look a bit off so I opted for a more simple approach.

Thanks Mark, when I heard the customer's response I was a bit surprised lol it looked fine to me. But the customer is sometimes right eh?

I really like the Damascus pattern. You can see how the twists became tighter as you get closer to the guard. Very neat looking effect.
