One of a kind Beauty Created by Darrin Sanders

Here is a knife that I designed which came to life by Darrin Sanders craftsmanship. These pictures are before Darrin sharpened it. The handle is small enough to feel good in one hand however gives me the option for a two hand power grip. Just for everyone’s information my primary objective was extreme toughness which was prioritized first and foremost over cosmetics.
I wanted to thank Darrin publically for making this knife come to life and having the courage to take on such an unprecedented project. Its fit , feel and balance is absolutely perfect. Its power and mechanical /leverage advantage is unparalleled by any conventional bowie I have ever toyed with.
Also a shout out to David from Great Lakes Waterjet,Inc. for helping cut the steel Aldo from http://newjerseysteelbaron.com/ for providing the steel. Finally, Kevin Cashen for his advice on the L6.
Unfortunately , these pictures do not do it justice and the optics do not reveal its true identity. Never the less enjoy the pictures and if you’re interested in one for yourself contact custom knife maker Darrin Sanders.

OA = 23.5 inches
BL = Cutting Edge 13 inches
Width= 4.25 at the widest sweep of the blade
Spine= 14mm or ½ inch
Steel =Aldo’s L6 Steel
H/T 58-59

That is AWESOME! Now I know why Darrin hasn't had many knives for sale on here lately, he has been whittling away on .500 of L6. I personally hate hand guards on knives but that one just fits. Congratulations JAMerolle, I am truly jealous. Please post pictures once you put that beast to work.

Thanks for posting Joe, I'm glad you are happy with it. Wroughndt this project and several more full custom pieces have had me busy for quite a while. I hope to get caught up and make some things that have been floating around in my head for a while. Sonneman chopping down an apple tree should be no problem if you're strong enough to swing it. This monster weighs 7.75 pounds. I would say it is "formidable" to say the least.

You know I am going to have to have one more , any advice how to get the wife to agree. Perhaps my 5 year old can get a paper route or something.

LOL ??? I am not kidding , I have to find a way to pull another one off..... Jewelry Hmmm.

In the meen time I will post some pictures in the Sheath forum to see if I can get some takers on a Sheath project for this knife. I think we will name this knife "The Daughter’s boyfriend Antidote" . Any sugestions for a name are welcome.

That is a cool knife. Like a Chinese butterfly knife had babies with a Bowie.

Hi Crimsonfalcon07, I appraciate your feedback , I dont do business with Darrin because of his grinding skills its because of his H.T. understanding. The H.T. is what makes the knife/steel performance.

As soon as I can get some shots I will post them, thanks for the feed back let's give Darrin a big hip hip hooray , for a job well done! Any suggestions on who can build its sheath

7.75 lbs? That would be a heavy sword, let a lone chopper bowie.

I like heavy blades , there is an advantage when your on the down swing. The way I see it , you can chip away for hours killing time and energy or you can get the job done with one swipe. To each his own , to me this knife is worth it's weight in gold.
