One of a kind Beauty Created by Darrin Sanders

I like heavy blades , there is an advantage when your on the down swing. The way I see it , you can chip away for hours killing time and energy or you can get the job done with one swipe. To each his own , to me this knife is worth it's weight in gold.

Amen to that! Use what you like! If I had such a beast, though, it would be more for the fun factor than anything else. I often make many swings in the course of using a chopper, but it's mostly because I have many targets.

Also, the term heavy is relative to ones size and strength. One other feature about this knife , it can sit up on its spine , so I dont have to lift anything I can bring the object to the blade. So yes Sonnemann, I can peal an apple or cut done the apple tree :-)

I want a chopping video! Sheath looks good... Oh and I want a chopping video!

Here are some larger shots . As far as the video , the next tree that needs to go down I will post a video. This last tree was 27 inches around , it took about 4 hits for the thing to go down , if you look at the limbs in the last post you will see the cuts were so clean it looks like it was done with a chain saw. No chopping on those 12 inch diameter limbs just one swipe and clean cut.

One last word and thanks to Cal from http://cckydex.com/ for making my sheath. Its a tight secure fit to the body and very sturdy ! The design really makes this knife feel like light weight on long hikes.

Great Job !!

Not to many options with a blade that size. It does a great job of evenly distributing the weight , to a point I don't even feel it.

I have a H.I. Farm Knife with a custom sheath by pugs75 and it is awesome. He does great leatherwork. I have also had a sheath made by Leatherman and it was a work of art.
Those are the two I have experience with.
BTW Nice monster chopper!!

I would also like to get a leather sheath , every leather sheath maker I sent the knife to ended up sending the knife back with a note "sorry I can't help you ".
