I have made a few knife shaped objects so this is not technically my first but some grinding things started to click on this one. I know I should have done more hand sanding, but I got impatient. Still a long way to go in skill development. First time trying some Micarta, Corby Bolts, and a lanyard hole. Comments welcome.

I like it. Here's a few aesthetic critiques:
-Front of the scales doesn't match the plunge, making them parallel would look nicer and give you a bit more ricasso
-front pin should be back a bit, I like a two pin setup to have about equal distance to the respective end of the scales
-Lanyard hole should be a bit more off center, I'd move it down

I like it too. In addition to the other comments...the finish in the blade can be more even. Make sure you are using a hard backed object (like a paint stir stick) for sanding and working through the grits with lots of patience. Keep it up!!!

Getting there. I showed some of my ugly early stuff to other knife makers, but I did not present a knife for "customer" use (my first was a KITH knife) until I had tried to make some where between 30 and 40. Most ended up in the city dump and the few that survived stuck around the shop for years to shame me into going slow and steady. I threw away most of those in recent years, but still have a couple hanging around . ;) the decision that got me to the next level was telling myself that I would no longer try to "fix" knives. if they were not right, in the can they go. That made me slow down. Production efficiency is not a big deal when you are first learning.
