Howdy Folks,

I guess I've been lurking here long enough, I thought I would post something...

Here's a single blade trapper I made a while ago, inspired by some of the great old knives I see in this forum...

It's 3 1/2" closed with an O-1 blade nickel silver bolsters, brass liners and bone scales I jigged and dyed myself... I posted this one in another forum, sorry if you've seen it before.

Thanks for looking

Robin,

That's a hell of a nice lookin' knife. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your work and if they look anything like that one, getting on your list.

Ditto!

Love the bone you've done here

Darn nice! I always appreciate it when the fit on the scales, liners, and backspring is tight and clean, as seems to be on that one. Nice work on the scales too. The blade has a neat Navaja/Okapi look to it.

Man, that is a great looking folder. Hope we get to see more from your bench.

Very nice lines. Looks like a great little cutter.

Very nice....... "lurking long enough" is right. Welcome, and post as much of your work as you like.

Were all junkies.....;) :D

Nicely done! How many have you made so far?? It looks like you have been practicing!!

Excellent blade grindage !

For me. . . .hard to beat a single blade slippie.

Very nice looking work. I like the grinds and am looking forward to seeing more of you knives.

Hi Robin. Welcome to the forum and kudos on making a good looking folder.

The bone color and jigging look really nice and the grinds are pretty good. The one obvious thing I noticed that you could improve on is how the bone is radiused to the liner.

I have read more than one comment of buyers and collectors that many custom knifemakers are making their knives too "square". You want to make handles so that they aren't offensive to the hand in any way so don't be afraid to round those puppies over. Take a look at old pocket knives from the 50's and before and I think you will notice something. They are very smooth and roundish and feel like holding buttah. :)

That's the kind of introduction that will get you a helluva welcome on the forums. Welcome, and hope to see your work more often.

Welcome Robin,
I'll have to join the rest of the crew regarding that little slippy in it's mighty fine appearance. Perhaps you can tell us a little more about the materials used, process and how long you have been making knives?
