Hello dear friends,
With God's good will today i present you the 'Chameleon' - a solid compact size titanium frame lock with an impressive look and a perfect companion for EDC use.
Built around a titanium 'core' this folder is a gorgeous cutter.
An aluminium/vanadium alloy, Grade 5 TA6V titanium offers an excellent compromise between mechanical strength, toughness and ductility hence it was the choice for the frame of the folder.
The detent ball is high quality ceramic for an ever lasting smooth action without deformations.
All screws are precision machined stainless steel, the stop and pivot pins are hardened, precision ground 400c stainless steel so no wear in there even after prolonged years of use.
The blade slides on phosphorous bronze washers with 'grease pockets'.
The blade is made using the high carbon Wolfram Special tool steel at 65 hrc (beware it is not rustproof but you know me - i am the carbon steel guy
), with a high flat grind, a classy satin finish. The blade comes razor sharp and is correctly centered.
'Chameleon' features on short:
- Grade 5 TA6V titanium - 'Chameleon' purple haze anodizing that 'changes' color based on the angle of light/view.
- very light and very strong.
- Wolfram Special tool steel, 65 hrc, with a high flat grind and a classy satin finish.
- phosphorous bronze washers with 'grease pockets'.
- screws are precision machined stainless steel, the stop and pivot pins are hardened, precision ground 440c stainless steel.
- pivot has 'Arctic blue' finish aluminum countersunk washers.
- custom home made stainless steel thumb stud heat colored in tone with the theme.
- one off custom tip up Ti pocket clip (yes, this is a one screw type yet when tightened correctly there is zero chance to rotate; the only way of doing it is to abuse it on purpose but it is not the case). This clip style offers full customization for pocket clip's position related to the tang as it can be rotated around it's base.
