One Off thumb stud?

Today I met a couple buddies for Java and to talk about knives.

One buddy, brought his strider SMF and I noticed thumb stud on his SMF sits flush on the presentation side and extends a little bit past the Ti side.

Then I took a look at mine and my SMF has studdy thumb studs that do not make it to the end of either side.

Do I have a one off special SMF or does strider change the length of there thumb studs randomly?

That's just a little bit of QC, or Strider just messing with stop-pin lengths, (maybe both) depending on when the knives where made, there are some variances.
