One piece lockbar/ spring tempering question?

So I am working on a lockback and in the past I have used 1095 for the one piece lockbar/spring. The most recent one is made of CPM154.
My question is should I temper the whole thing like a blade and spring temper the spring part with a torch or should I spring temper the whole thing?

Thanks for the reply. I figured that was the thing to do since I temper the whole spring on my slip-joints.

It would be difficult for me to get the right temp with 154, in the neighborhood of 1050, with a torch. It's an extra step, but I've been using my HT kiln to do one at a time (440c). Have done a few with W2 with a torch though and the results were good.
