That axe is awesome! I got to play with some of Sam's toys this past weekend. Top notch stuff!
 
You'd think you could of atleast wiped the vaseline off my toys Mike :eek:

The one where me and tom were watching you forge it and the guy kept shoving his billet up your ass. I wanna see that pattern you got from it :)
 
KY...Vaseline...meh, it's all the same thing....I had a blast hanging out with you Sam, i will do my best to make it out your way and we can hang out some more.

Wow! That's some impressive forging. Love the design, I bet it will be a blast to play with.


Btw, Your marking knives are pretty sweet too.

Agreed! The "Sammer Slammer" is a real work horse hammer, i got to use mine at Ashokan and break it in. I will say though, the forging on that hawk is seriously impressive in person, the heft and balance are amazing.

I HT'd this guy up last night, and did some filework mostly breaking the corners and beveling all around the head and spike and down the handle a bit, chipped at some concrete with the spike, frikkin ate it for breakfast. this thing is pretty devastating and feels indestructible.

If your going to the iron fest you better bring it with you. I will hopefully be there. Sadly i couldn't make it to ashokan :(
 
Here's the finished product, holds 15ft of paracord in the handle. Differential style HT, axe blade, back spike and handle spike all HT'd and the handle is left as forged. This thing truly is a weapon of power, damn near indestructible.

Sam that turned out very nicely! It has some of the best lines of any tomahawk I have seen, really cool.
