My all-time favorite is Rush. As far as "new" stuff I like Metallica.

Cab Caloway--Hiney, Hiney, Hiney Hole
Benny Goodman
Lawrence Welk
Frank Sinatra
Wayne Newton
Tony Bennet
The Andrew Sisters

Of the newer stuff, lets see,
The Osmonds
The Partridge Family
The Monkey's
The Jackson 5

Of the most recent stuff,
The Hansen Brothers--They have such a warm and friendly sound and are such nice boys, do you think they carry knives?

Depends on my mood - If i'm angry some Metallica is good, esp master of puppets. Mopre often i listen to slow, depressing music. Sopmething For Kate are a great band if anyone wants to check them out. The piano version of one of their songs is simply a classic.

Hanson..... well, if there was ever a group i couldn't stand, hanson would be it. Or maybe Ricky Martin.

Aaaaanyway

LMAO!!! Some of the definitions of 'new' stuff are hilarious! Who needs to sell blades when you can make a fortune in Geritol around here?!

I like most of what has been posted.... The largest portions being the stuff which drowns out coherent thought patterns and makes speech all but impossible and absolutely unintelligible!

Kiss my HAIRY Mrs. King and my 'confiscated' KISS Destroyer Album from the 4th Grade!!!!!!..... While you've been drooling in your cream corn wearing someone else's dentures I've actually gone out and DONE something with my life and I STILL LISTEN TO STUFF WHICH WOULD MAKE BRAIN MATTER POUR FROM YOUR EARS!!!!!!!! VENGEANCE IS FOREVER MINE!!!!!!!! YOU WANTED THE BEST, YOU GOT THE BEST!!!!!!! Heh heh he

Most of the newer crap gets on my nerves. Rap Core or Rap/Metal or whatever they call it. It's lame. Eminem, Kid Rock, Korn? Please someone blow up their cars as the cruise along. Ok got that out of the way...

I still like some newer bands, but I like a lot of old guys too...

Kenny Wayne Shephard Band, Chris Duarte Group, Eric Clapton (my favorite musician of all time) Collective Soul, Train, Live, Creed, BB King, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Train, Matchbox 20, 3 Doors Down, Third Day, Counting Crows, etc... I like several different things. But mainly I like music played with passion and heart. Music that you can feel. Musicians that lack that never find a place in my collection. I get about 220 CDs now, and still growing

Blink 182
Unwritten Law
Limp Bizkit
Wu Tang Clan
Cypress Hill
Vandals

"I'm out there Jerry, and I'm lovin' every minute of it!"--Kramer

I'll listen to just about anything, except country (nothing against those who like country, I just don't happen to like it, is all) and most rap (most rap is simply done for shock value, with no concerns about quality, but there is some good stuff out there). For what I actually buy, I tend to go for things which are a bit out of the ordinary and defy easy classification, like Rusted Root, Sublime, and The Flaming Lips, among others. Although I do also have some Billy Joel, since I just really like his music for some reason.

Speaking of The Flaming Lips, though, I have to plug one of their albums. It's called 'Zaireeka,' and looks like a 4-CD set. However, all four CDs are one album; you need four CD players to play it rihgt (although you can just use two or three, but the effect isn't the same). Four CDs, with separate left and right sounds on each means eight separate sound sources, playing different but realted music. Truly something out of the ordinary. Sorry for the plug, but I was really impressed by this, and it takes a lot to impress me.

P.S., this really should go to Community, which means I'll probably not see it again, so if anyone replies to my post, please email me to say so, or I'll never end up reasing your reply.

I'm a big bluegrass fan, myself. Nothing like working your balisong techniques to a good rendition of Foggy Mountain Breakdown.

While a hard-driven beat is good for some balisong work, I suggest you try it with something totally different. Try some cool jazz and see what that does for your routine. Slow songs will really force you to become smooth and controlled.

And when it does come time to work on speed and energy, I prefer Petra or White Cross.

Based on the number of their records I own Hawkwind is first on my list. Over 100 albums from 1969 till now. Also Motorhead, the Dictators, 30 Seconds over Tokyo, the Pogues, Utah Saints, Body Count, The Dead Kennedys (hate the live ones), Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention, The Neighborhoods, the Fools, and of course, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones...

Ok, I'll play before this gets moved.

Metallica (From '81 to present they still ROCK)
Papa Roach
Godsmack
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
(I'm sure you notice the trend- GOOD rock)

Unusual:
Denis Leary (some of the stuff on No Cure For Cancer is great!)

Stratovarius (German band- Dream Theater like they should be)
Conception (also German)
Raddaka (also German, I've been forced to go global because of the shortage of good rock here in America)

and I leave you with the immortal words of John Corabi-
"I'm a product of your troubled ways,
you made me what I am today.
Now you're askin' why?"
