One step forward and two steps back.

MS and MJD have some of the same symptoms and the motor skills and tremors are two of them.
I wish you the best of luck too Bro. My lady is only 36 years of age.
Hey!!! I rent you a apartment up here @ $650 a month and you would have a excess to have half way decent smithy.;)

Gotcha there, mine is only 31 (well 32 in a couple of months). Good ones for you too! And I totally wish I could move, unfortunately were both divorced. She can't move because of her daughter and I can't because of mine. But the smithy would be cool! Right now I haven't even considered (well, seriously anyhow) forging because I think my neighbors would have the cops or the home owner's association on me before I heated the steel for a second round. Dang noise laws! So I'm content right now just grinding away in my basement :D

Guys I understand a little how you feel, dealing with a loved one who's got medical issues. My Dad has either MS or a pinched nerve issue (the docs say they can't really tell for sure without an autopsy ) It's hard to see the man I idolized as a child, unable to work and in a wheelchair. Luckily I've had extra time lately to hang out with him and do work around his house/yard for him. Gotta give something back to him, y'know.

I hear ya'. The one thing I know is my gf is the nicest person you'll ever meet. Hell, she's the one that bought me all my shop stuff for that last Christmas! As I'm opening the boxes she says "Bye, see you in 6 months". When I asked what she meant by that, she said because she knew how much I wanted to get into the knife thing and she knows that when I get into something I'll just dive in full bore! 4 knives later and I'm still going strong! Gotta love someone that puts your dreams at the top of their list. Of course I still spend more time with her than I do with my grinder...although I have been known to sneek out of the bedroom after she goes to sleep to get just a few more grinds in :D

i also know how yall feel. my grandma passed away on december 29th, 2002. she had COPD. my grandpa passed away december 5th, 2006. he had congestive heart failure. both of them had memory loss and had trouble remembering thing. my grandpas death hit me the hardest since he was my father figure. they used to babysit me when i would get home from elementary school. now im having to come down from my house and stay here a few days every week or two just to help mom out with the house. im really going to have to help mom out more after she gets the house ready to sell because she is going to finally get the back surgery she needs. best of luck to yalls loved ones.

I heard that! My woman has told me many times that if I really want to I can quit my job and make knives and other cool stuff full-time, "we'll find a way to make it work." That's dedication in my eyes. Think I'll keep this one :)

Not to get all mushy, but we all have challenges in our lives... it does a man good to know he's not the only one. My best wishes to you all, and your families!

Well I have two interview to do today for the PCA's position. I going with a older women this time 30 to 40's. The younger ones just can't depend on them.:(

I think you might be right about that. A more adult woman with responsibilites, will likely be more... ummm... responsible.

Good luck man :)

Helen and I hire a new PCA today. She is 45 years of age and she is half German and half Irish. A big women.
Now to find a tenant.:D

Which half is Irish?:D

My best guess: The drunk half! :D

Acceptable alternatives would have been:

- Whichever half raises the shot glass instead of the beer stein
- Well, does she SPEAK with an Irish brogue?
- Check under the nose...is there a little teensy mustache? Uberhalf is German!

:D
