And a couple years later… did you ever find your perfect camp knife?
Are you familiar with TheKnifeConnection and their architect series? That’s been my all around do everything camp knife lately.
I’ve also been admiring the jg5 but can’t find it anywhere.
Ooh, That’s a nice looking nessmuk! It would have been cool to see what he chose. I may as well add my thoughts, a nessmuk style from GL Drew would have been nice to use. Also like Mike Mann of Idaho Knife Works Nessmuk.View attachment 2169412

Hey all!
So I've been on the hunt for a a great camp knife, I do a ton of overlanding/camping, been looking for a good camp knife for cooking or even breaking down small diameter wood. I had my heart set on the Nordsmith Canteen knife, but I'm pretty sure they're no longer making them. Was wondering if anyone else had a similar style nessmuk knife? TIA!
Overlanding a form of car camping, right?. . .So weight is not an issue. I am guessing that going the cheapest way is not required either. Also con=sider that just one knife might not be the answer for both food prep and heavier csmp chores. I'd want to keep kitchen gear separate from other tools anyway.
Take a look at a Chris Reeve "Pacific.".
Another premium knife for heavier chores might be a Randall Made Diver's knife (#16) with saw teeth or their "Sasquatch" . get the smaller model.
