Hi there! This month I’m turning one year old here :). I had several great readings, have learnt a lot and had a good time hanging around here . I got also some good suggestions about a couple of knives I wanted to buy and indulged myself in some nice chit-chat and a few knives and hiking/camping amateur write-ups. Thank-you all for the company and the good entertainment you’re providing me with, specially during business trips and the time away from my family.

This I where I am today with my knives-illness :D, as far as my folders in regular EDC rotation and my most used hiking/camping fixed blades. Three new ones since I joined here! Missing from the pics (stored a bit further away and very much less used today) an original Sardinian pattada, the Fallkniven A1 and the ER Shrapnel. All my tools here are users, I “walk” my knives and they see their share of pocket time. This is my real joy of this hobby, be out and play with the knives :). Of course “cum grano salis”, If you’ll ever see me batoning with a Mcusta, call the ambulance :D.

Herlock , you have the knife sickness but thankfully not the batoning sickness. You're welcome here !

If you can, could you identify the knives in the order of the pictures. I don't like to guess as to what something is.

I have enjoyed your hiking threads. I think you have the blade sickness and there is no cure other than a wife that threatens to leave you if you buy another.

Thanks! Batoning sickness LOL :D No, seriously, I saw some guys doing it with SAKs and Opinels... that's to cure :D

Thanks! Well, that's strange, "guess the knife" it's one of my favorite pastimes :). But here you go:

Extrema Ratio - BF2 CT
Sasha Thiel - Officer
FMKD - Profili Folder
Southern Grind - Spider Monkey
G. Sakai - Hunting Folder (large)
Spyderco - Pacific Salt
Fallkniven - F1
Viper - Free
Benchmade - Mini Rukus (special edition)
Mcusta - Fuji Kamon Crest
EKA - Nordic W12
Pohl Force - Bravo One (limited edition 316/500)
Mcusta - Tsuchi
Lionsteel - T.R.E. G10
SOG/Fox - Power Assist

Didn't list half a dozens of SAKs kids are playing with and couple of Opinels I keep around in the garage :D. Wife she's great, maybe she doesn't fully understand this hobby but she understand hobbies :). This is what I collected along years anyway. Max three/four pieces/year :). I try to behave...:D

:applouse::applouse::applouse:Slow clap my friend . You need some ZTs though.

How do you like the Spider Monkey? I have try and resist that one about once a week.

It seems you have learned nothing from your year here. :) nice set of knives, good variety.

I appreciate your listing the pictured knives. I didn't know many of them, only guesses. I kept looking at the "S1" mentioned in the text and thinking that's an F1. Call me "confused". :D You straightened me out. You have a great run of knives there.

Hi! Thanks for kind appreciation. Yes, the missing of a ZT is a major gap I need to fill :D. I have a couple on the wish list. Their line up this year is unusual, in one way, for what the brand represents to me, but interesting and somehow "daring".

The Spider Monkey is a great EDC for me . Very good ergonomics, super lightweight, great blade profile. The guys in SG really seems to knows what they’re doing, quite amazing for a relatively “new” Company. To me it’s a very good slicer which doesn’t shy away from more demanding “light-utility” tasks. A pocket companion I am truly in love with. Long version here:

:D LOL. Yeah, I know I’ll probably won’t graduate here at International School of Advanced Knifery :D but I’m planning to party a LOT :D ! Thanks, glad you like them. It’s just to share, I know I have average pieces compared to what goes around here but I have my tastes and I’m happy with them. I think that’s what matters :).

Well, you are off to a quick start! Nice knives!

How do you like the Pohl?

Hi! Thanks for your comments :)!

I love the Pohl Force designs. For me, the Bravo One it’s a solid EDC folder. It’s practical and down-to-earth, it packs a lot of sturdiness and efficiency in a compact and unique shape. Against all odds :D, it has good ergonomics and the “simple” materials used in its construction make it, for me, a kind of workhorse with a very easy maintenance (Zytel is basically indestructible for EDC tasks; 440C steel might not be “super” but it gets the job done, it takes a good edge and it’s easier for me to sharpen compared to other super steels; screws and pivot can be adjusted with at-hand/field items, like coins and flat head screwdrivers).

Now there’s the improved Gen 3 to check out. Many changes! I think it’s worth a look . One might like them or not but Pohl Force are never trivial or ordinary knives! Just my opinion :).

I have been looking at the Lion Steel line for some time now and considering making a decision. Decisions are hard sometimes.
