Sometimes we start a project and then things begin to change . That is what happened on this project and I am glad it did .

I hollow ground the bevels on this knife from a 3/16" bar stock of A-2 Tool Steel and the front is flat ground . The top bevel grind is not sharpened . It is Heat treated to an Rc. 60-61 with a sub-zero soak .

O.A.L is 10-3/4"

Blade tip to handle is 6" , it is 1-1/4" wide and 1-1/2" at the Integral Finger Guard .

Sharpened edge is at 5-1/2"

I dressed it up in Figured Desert Ironwood , Red Liners and Mosaic pins .

Sheath is 8-9oz and is left or right hand carry .

Very nice knife! I would love a knife of similar design, but a little bigger and maybe not as fancy as it would be used not collected. I see you are from Naselle. We lived in Vancouver for 31 years. My wife is 100% Finn so we went to the festival several times there. Had a great time.

Beautiful work Jack!! The grinds on this Tanto are beautiful! You have put some additional hours in on the making of this one I'm sure. Very nice Ironwood and sheath too!!
 
Very nice; really appreciate that you still kept the essence of a traditional tanto while creating a blade that certainly stands out.

dude that is gorgeous. i looked at your older stuff hoping to find folders cause that's how i SEE me carrying that tanto style blade you made on this great piece. any chance you will be getting into combat/EDC folders?

yeah the price above your asking is more then generous for that blade imho, someone's gonna scoop that for sure.

that is certainly one of those knives that is hard to keep looking at and walk away from. sort of like a really awesome puppy that needs a home even though...
