Online edge finder

Cut out a section of the blade and put it on an optical compariter then measurements are easy !!

I don't get how you are doing this, could you post a picture of it how you measure it? The edge is too small to measure with just my eyes........

Skip the into and use one of the choice and put the spine of your blade up to the screen and use the screens protractor ! Would help if your screen's resolution isn't super high :D

My screen resolution is at 1920X1080, I don't want to accidentally stab my monitor lol, do you put the tip or spine against the screen? I don't understand how you can measure the the edge angle by putting the spine against it .

Tried the protractor, but now my blade is stuck in the screen. I'll stick to my brown and sharpe protractor in the future

I'm gonna assume you're kidding about not knowing how to do this, but just in case you are serious this is what I did.

Took one of my knives (which happened to be chisel ground)

and then measured the angle of the grind using the protractor on the screen !

by putting the spine (which is flat against the screen) till the bottom of the blade flat side
lined up with the 0 degree line of the online protractor.

this one is at a 20 degree chisel grind.

What if it's a flat ground blade with a secondary bevel, how will you measure the edge angle?

EDIT: I took a picture, what angle is it?.......

now that looks much much harder to estimate ! Perhaps this is a situation where it would be easier to use the spine and guestamate !

The make the angle game is pretty fun. I am pretty good at it. When I was at camp we learnt some rifle drill and the instructor said that port arms is roughly 45 degrees, I said it was 20-ish...
