Online HOG Induction . . . . .

I haven't been around here long enough to aspire yet to Hog status, but I have aquired three Busses (2 Badgers and an SFNO) and a Swamp Rat HRLM since this thread started! So if it lasts long enough I might have a little collection worth showing off.

Never did get a response from Amy-0. Or maybe the lack of a response was the response. Or maybe this whole online induction thing was just a cruel joke perpetrated by Johnnie Walker?
 
I finally counted as best I could from memory....I've had the pleasure of owning 38 different Busses since October. Not 38 different models (have/had multiples and different combos) and not all at once either....I've traded and sold quite a few....most behind the scenes.
 
I'm not sure if I have enough knives to be considered a HOG, but I emailed Amy to find out. I sure don't want to miss out on the Anniversary Steel Heart!

If it was just how many Busse knives one had that was taken into consideration, then that would be the equivalent of being able to "buy" HOG status. I doubt that is the only consideration. It may not even be the most important consideration.
 
I sent Amy an email but no reply so maybe I dont qualify. However, since that email I acquired two SAge FBMs, 1 combat grade FBM, 1 limited edition FBM and Batac is on the way.

Ive just counted up all the Busses knives Ive had in my possession and it kind of suprised me. 42 from Busse Combat, 10 Rats and 3 Dogs. Ive sold or traded alot of it away I didnt realize how busy Ive been.

Here's the dealio. . . There are many Squatch HOGs out there that we are barely aware of. . . . They buy from the secondary market and can amass huge collections while only buying a few knives from us. . . If we went by our sales records only, they would be overlooked. . . . We do not want to leave any HOG behind!!!. . . . :thumbup:

While it is true that the size of your collection or dollars spent is only one of the criteria that we use when determining HOG status, it can, nonetheless, be an important part of the equation. . .

I hate to agree with Porkerson on this one, because I usually blame him for everything under the sun, but he is 100% spot on when he says, "being a HOG is a state of mind, not a state of wealth". . . . (Nice one Bully! :thumbup: ). . .

So, a guy could make a case for HOG status without having an enormous collection, but he would have to let us know why we should believe that he bleeds Black and Gold. . . :D
