Here is a question for any online knife dealers. I didn't know where to post it, maybe someone can direct it to where it belongs.

An online knife dealer was just dropped by their credit card payment gateway. Reason given..."you sell knives, therefore you are a high risk account."

Dealer sells collectible, hunting, tactical, etc. knives with this merchant account for over a year and a half. Just decided to add a few automatics to the lineup. Within a month, payment gateway dropped. Is the addition of autos the reason? Dealer drops autos and tells payment company. Payment company says "you sell hunting/outdoors knives, we cannot support your business."

Does anyone out there know good payment gateway companies that will support an online knife dealer? Square, Stripe, Braintree and many others won't.

Thanks!

This is a tricky subject to discuss in this part of the forum because it's tied to politics. In a nutshell, the anti-gun movement is affecting the knife industry as well. This is an extension of investment firms and banks dumping their shares in firearm manufacturers and YouTube pulling gun channels. It's a sign of the times we live in. It sucks but its a coming reality.

Wepay and paypal do from what I have found...

I would speak with the FTC. If they have been paying the credit card company for a year and a half & engaged in the same business, then the store may have a case against them. If the card is accepted at B&M stores such as Walmart that sell knives or Amazon that sells knives online, then their decision really doesn't seem right. It's like the bakers who occasional refuse to make Gay wedding cakes. Some baker refuses about every 6 weeks, gets sued & loses. It's worth a shot.
