Only in Germany...

Stats of death during accident doesn't prove anything about safety definitavely.

It could be just saying portugal doesn't get to you in time or hospitals are far, or they are unsophisticated EMS. If all things were equal except speedlimit then we might have some stats that mean something otherwise it just USA Today trash. It could be spun to whatevr you want.

Corelation doesn't equal causation. Learned that day one in Stats 101.

Statistics don't lie, but statisticians do. :D

Most americans are too stupid to drive that fast.

I used to ride my bike at speeds of over 160mph all the time. I found that I had more "close calls" when I was going the speed limit. At high speed I tend to focus 100% attention on driving and on the road ahead. When I go 65 like I'm supposed to I get bored and don't pay as much attention.

It doesn't matter what the speed limit is. driving faster than you're used to and/or outside of your own personal limits is what gets most people in trouble. That and not paying attention to what's is going on.

I've you are in Germany someday, you should try driving the AUDI RS6 PLUS EVO R on the Autobahn 2 (A2) from Berlin to Hanover. There are nearly no speedlimits, and if you're driving Sunday in the morning, there won't be much traffic. You'll be scared by this AUDI. It's a station wagon with a top speed of 200 mph (320 kmh) . Really thrilling  .
