only ONE knife - which would it be?

I've got a Cold Steel fixed blade Tanto I bought about 15 years ago that I think would be a good everyday companion for all around indoor and outdoor tasks.

If current laws applied, I'd stick with my large cocobolo classic Sebenza.
If I could carry any knife, I'd take my Busse Mr. Mojo.

I'd really hate to choose only one out of everything I own but I guess it wouls come down to either my Buck 110 or my cqc-7a. Out of those two I think I might lean more toward the cqc-7a.

Doesn't matter much to me.:) When I consider that for most of my knife carring years a Scrade lb7 and a sak Tinker did it all for me hunting, fishing ,camping, construction, dock work and firefighting.

Now that I have all kinds of "better"knives,I still can't see what they could not do and do well.

I'll pick my 710.But could make due with anything Walmart sells on up.

This one: :)

I'll say this much, if you are talking only one knife, it would not be a folding knife.

I would no more take a folding knife over a fixed blade than I would a handgun over a rifle for one carry anywhere do all tool. Folders are nice backup but not primary tools. Of course if it's all you got, then it will do.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I love my folders and all but if I only get one knife it should be as simple and strong as possible- meaning fixed. I'd take a mid sized Busse.

One knife? Ridiculous concept! Even so, a big blade will handle small chores, but a small blade can't replace a big blade. My choice - a Busse Steelheart in any of its various permutations.

Since we aren't limiting this to productions knives - I would have to say the Grant Hawk T.O.A.D.

I only carry folders anyway and the locking mechanism is just incredible. It is ground well for both slicing and penetrating. Plus, it is the best clip design going on any folding knife, period.

one knife only? my 8" walter brend model 2 custom fixed blade.. you said only one, & that's the knife dearest to my heart.

For me, the answer to this is incredibly easy. Carson medium M4 with stellite blade. Can't find a better combonation for every chore I throw at it daily. Love these things.

Only one knife? It would be a large regular flat-ground Sebenza. It’s just about perfect for me.

Oh--Doris makes a return again. She's always a pleasure to see. Since I don't have the pleasure of her company, I would have to settle for my large Sebbie or Dozier Straight Personal.;)
