Only one knife.

well my house did burn to the ground 2 years ago, total loss. my knives for the most part were in my gunsafe which saved them and my guns. believe me watching it all burn loosing everything from 40 years of work and collecting things, knives were the last thing on my mind.

How is THAT for perspective?

Glad it was only stuff...THAT can be replaced...people can not!

My old rusty abused " Jim Bowie" stockman that my Grandad gave me it isn't worth anything but the man doesn't give his knives to just anybody so that knife will always have a great deal of sentimental value to me.

I would take my bark river Canadian special because it lives in my bugout bag when it's not on my belt, and I would grab my bag. ;-)

My Laconico clip point folder.
I would just have to buy another pioneer though. Replace all my Spyderco's

Either my Helle "insert model here". That I got when I was a young boy from my dad, or my favorit knife a Victorinox Spartan. Used and abused, but still love it.My ESEEs and Spydercos and other knives are all replaceable. The rest of my valubles are in my gun safe, which is fireproof as well. But to be honest, I`d save my grandfathers golden watch and my precious family photo albums.

My Scrapyard Regulator, because it's the only knife I have that would not be easy to replace. All of my others could just be ordered again. That would be quite expensive, though.

The knife I have in my pocket at that very moment. I live alone most of the time so no other members to take care of.
When I get the chance I would safe the old Herder Sodbusters from my dad and granddad I recently found on the attic at my Mom's.
All of those knives are useless with the blades 50% or more gone, but both of the men are passed away and those knives hold some nice memories from my childhood.
After that I would try to catch the knives I was gifted by fellow forumites.

My benchmade would be in my pocket..... Sooo Probably the original carbon V SRK. Or Carbon V Kukri..... Ahh i couldn't do it. I'd burn with them. Seriously though, i'd grab the most exspensive and let the rest burn and spend the rest of my life digging up the blades and restoring them. But i keep my knife in toolboxes seperated expensive and not so expensive for the most part, so i could just grab the exspensive box...

For me...I'd go with one of the Battle Mistresses, or perhaps the Basic 9. It would be hard to do any better than the Basic 9 with respect to a big knife for all purposes.

It would have to be the Ka-Bar my father carried in WWII.

If I could save two, then the Buck 110 that I got in the 70s -- sentimental attachment -- I've carried it through a lot, and it's carried me through a lot.

put out the fire before it gets hot enough to ruin the heat treating of the knives :P
