Is it possible to have just one? I just bought my for Sebenza from another member here on the forums, and it should he here today or tomorrow. Non the less, I'm stoked!

But like I said, is it possible to have just one? Or have I entered another world that will empty my bank account just like busse's knives or even traditional?

Anyone else have just one?

Pre-25 purchase, I would have said no. Post-25 purchase, I say absolutely. The only thing that could kick my 25 is the micarta (or other future) inlay 25.

Ive owned 4 at one point, now I only have a plain jane large 21. I tried out the Zaan, 25, and a large insingo but for me the plain 21 fits my needs and preferences the best. Im probably the minority though. Im sure most others have more than one.

I have had a Small 21 for over 3 years now. Only one. It is possible, but probably not advisable.

If you have a lot off will power the answer is yes, it is possible to own just one. One is all you really need, but the trick is not to buy the second(obviously) which is oh so tempting. Once you buy the second, third---there is no going back. It just becomes too hard to choose and the variety is so much fun. One may be a bit boring, but if you picked wisely it can fill all your folder needs for the rest of your life.
With that said-I have 4 and am searching hard for a 5th. My will power is not so good I guess:)
On a serious note-buying knives is fun, but don't go into debt or take away from your family to do it. Unfortunately knife buying can be addictive in a not so good way for some.

Of course it is. I know a few people with just one, and that's all they want.

I've got more than one because I want more than one, but I've never had over 10 at one time(7 now), and I bought two before I had joined here in 05.

Busse. Thats another story, as I had about 65 of those at one time, and bought them all in a few short years. CRK and Busse marketing is very different, and I admit Busse got me with theirs. Great knives, and I've kept a few, but I now know better than to go down that road again.

One BG42 regular 1999 lefthanded is my only Sebenza. Most of the time my EDC although I bought since then alot of other knives from different brands. I have a collection of 100+ knives, not a real collection because only a few are safequeens.
Tempted to buy another lefthanded Sebenza but I don't need yet another, maybe when a lefthanded 25 will come out. I like the regular bladestyle the most, don't like the 21 pointy bladestyle but the 25 blade style resembles the regular bladestyle more. The 25 has no bushing system and this is what I like so much about the Sebenza.
So it's possible to have only one. Bought my regular secondhand through the dutch knife forum for a very friendly price, still thankful to this man. Paying a premium?, I don't know, maybe.......

The amazing thing is prior to my Sebenza 25 purchase I would rotate often between my the regular, classic, 21, umnum and ti-lock, even occasionally throwing in the lochsa, slim EDC and VECP. but after the 25 I find I almost always grab the 25 in the morning. I was thinking about this a lot recently and I think I narrowed down the reasons for this obsession. Its actually quite simple, and based on functionally insignificant details, sound and heft. The added thickness of the blade (while maybe not entirely devoid of functional significance, for the majority of uses and users it is) Provides a nice increase in heft and also the "clok" sound made across all sebenzas is deepened and made more appealing (at least to me) because of the thicker blade. The "clok" is also made to sound cleaner because of the point contact of the blade and the ceramic bearing.

just my opinion.

I am trying to become a bit more "minimalist", but it ain't easy. Only one Sebenza, a plain 21 Insingo, which is my daily carry. I also have a Bloodwood mnandi which I haven't ever carried, so I'm thinking of selling it. With the spa service from CRK, a one and only Sebenza can always be like new if needed. Good luck! Joe

I only ever intended to get one. I've now owned 5 and 1 Umnumzaan. So yeah...not possible. :D

Anything is possible, not all things are probable. If you are disciplined enough to have a Sebenza in hand and determine it will suffice then yes. Like most, including myself, the first is the start of an addiction

At least 2 Sebenzas. Large and small. If you've bought the large one then it'll be followed by the small soon.....:) It's very addictive..!

Sounds like its doable after all. But knowing my personality, I'm screwed. I'm sucker for a quality built knife. I've even been looking at adding a small Sebenza already and in don't even have my first one yet..... Hopefully the mailman will have dropped it off today!!
