Ontario Hells Belle blade thickness?

Hey y'all!

I happen to have a real strong interest in a Hells Belle-ish Bowie. Problem is, I'm too broke for the original, or even Ontario's discontinued version, so I'll probably end up making them with our own ten thumbs out of O-1.

I'm thinking of starting out with a 1/4" thick piece of bar stock. I have a buddy that thinks that's too heavy duty for a fighter.

Can anyone take a measurement of their Hells Belle spine, and let me know what it is?

Mine is 5/16" thick. Mine is very well put together but about as dull as a butter knife. At some point I am going to send it out for someone to sharpen for me. keepem sharp
