Mike Perrin and I are no longer involved with any customer service or warranty work on any knife manufactured by Ontario Knife Company. Also, Ontario has been sent notice to cease and desist manufacturing any knife design owned by Randall's Adventure & Training (RAT). This includes, but not limited to, the RTAK, RTAK II, TAK, RAT-3, RAT-5, RAT-7, Model 1 Folder, and any limited edition models. We have also sent notice to them to cease and desist using our name, likeness, logos, etc, on any item they produce or any advertising, catalog, etc. Randall's Adventure & Training / RAT Cutlery has retained two attorneys (one local attorney and an IP attorney from the Washington DC area) to make sure the best interests of Randall's Adventure and Training (RAT) and RAT Cutlery are seen to.

Jeff, this is great to hear. I was wondering when yall would get around to turning this thing back on them. Nice move!

Wonderful news as far as I am concerned. It may be a hassle for you short term, but the long term will surely outweigh this!

You have plenty of supporters here.

On your jungle trainng site Jeff I would remove Ontario's link from your site.I noticed it today, just helping bro !

Spooky, not sure how to answer that to keep from jamming myself into a statement that could potentially hurt us in court. So, I won't ;)

There you go! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Unfortunate to some degree, but their actions truly left you guys no choice.

I hope that those involved in this lawsuit can settle on terms fair and acceptable to all.

Litigation can be very costly and draining.

Guess I won't have to boycott them, as they can't make anything I want anymore. . .:D

Wow, they just f-ed themselves out of their best product line.

Jeff,

I wanted to check in with you guys publicly. You folks at RAT Cutlery are tops in my book. I also am very fond of Ontario Knife Co. and the folks up there. When the dust settles I hope there can be peace in the American Knife Industry.

My question is about the cease and desist letter to Ontario; Will there be any legal actions taken on dealers selling the RAT knives that they have in stock. I for one have a few buck tied up in the Ontario RAT knives?

At this time I am remaining neutral, I like both companies. Getting between RAT Cutlery and Ontario Knife Co. is like trying to break up two friends fighting over a girl. After the blood flies and the wounds heal they usually become friend again. I hope this is the case here. I know Ontario has not returned you calls and lacks communication, that may be their lawyers seeds of wisdom (lawyer are like a wife, you cant live with them, pass the beer nuts!). It would be nice if you folks could sit down and hash things out, that sounds simple but then again I'm a simple person. I think we can all agree that we don't need another American Knife Manufacturer going down the tubes (that goes for both companies).

 Your a class act Tom! I appreciate all the posts and emails ;)
Thanks for everything!

Tom,

At the risk of saying something that may be turned around on us at a later date I'll just have to remain silent and let the lawyers handle it.

With that said, we totally understand and support your position as a free, independent business man who can run your business as you see fit and buy from anyone you want....after all, that's called Capitalism.

The said part about all of this is we didn't go looking for any trouble. We were rocking right along with RAT Cutlery and everything was going good. Then we get a call that tells us we can't operate our own free, independent business as we see fit. Basically that tells me that I cannot operate under the same rules of Capitalism as other companies.

Anyway, I could go on and on here but I won't. Again, I'll let the lawyers handle it.

Tom, just know that we appreciate you.

Jeff

Same to you Derrick. I saw you posted while I was typing to Tom.
