Ontario Knife Company Sold?

To get back to the OP's original point on the warranty it seems like OKC should be honouring the warranty if the knife was made in the US.

WARRANTY

Ontario Knife Company® prides itself for its over 130 years of quality manufacturing. OKC products manufactured in the United States are backed by a limited lifetime warranty; if any of our Made in the U.S.A. products fail due to their structural integrity, not including cosmetic damage due to use, we will repair or replace it free of charge with the same item or an item of equal value. The structural build, not including cosmetic damage from use, of OKC International and globally sourced products are backed by a one-year limited warranty. All warranties exclude products subject to abuse, misuse, modification or neglect.

I e-mailed Blue Ridge Knives, and asked them about the status of the Ontario acquisition. Specifically I expressed questions about whether they would continue to make the current US Made models (498, 499, Old Hickory, etc.), and if so where?
They replied that they are still in the early stages and should know more in the next few months. They did confirm that they plan to continue to produce all the current Ontario items, and the stuff that had been made in the US they were going to try to continue to make them in the US.
Of course they couldn't provide any further details (understandably), but I thought it was helpful so I thought I would share.

BRK is the ENRON of the knife world. They are a "FACILITATOR" of selling knives, not a knife maker. They can slap the OKC brand on what ever cheap production thing they contract another maker to make. As they own the name and all the trade mark of the sold OKC, I'll not trust a "Newly Made" OKC knife myself. I even got four RAT 6s when I did, only TKC sells them at their original sales price if you want one.
