Ontario Knife Machete - new grip

Well, my kids finally shattered the grip on my Ontario machete. No one will come clean on how it got broken, but they all still have their fingers and other appendages, so I'm not too concerned...

Has anyone replaced the grip on this machete? Any suggestions/ideas/cool upgrades?

I've handled/re-handled a number of fixed blade knives, but am interested if there is anyone with a good mod idea. I have a number of woods on hand and would prefer to go with natural wood and am leaning towards either loveless bolts or brass pins.

When I was a kid things would mysteriously break on their own. To this day I have absolutely no knowledge of how the kitchen window got broken when I was 10. Also my father's tape measure once "exploded" and ended up stuffed in the back of the closet. The world is indeed full of mysteries.
