Took this and another Ontario knife in on trade. Thought it would be interesting to see how they are stacking up against ESEE these days. Well, not bad. Good design and execution. The quality is much better than I expected as well. Nice black finish on the blade with satin finished edges. This one has some serious heft. The overall quality and perfection is not there to the extent ESEE has accomplished. But this is a very nice, useable knife.
The TFI has an 5 1/4" blade of 5160 steel that is noted for being very impact resistant and is coated black. The thickness is 1/4" with an overall length of 10 1/4". Very stout. Comes in a black "Spec-Ops" wanna be style sheath. I repeat, it is NOT Spec-Ops, just that style. Holds the knife fine, but the quality is definately not there.
