Took this and another Ontario knife in on trade. Thought it would be interesting to see how they are stacking up against ESEE these days. Well, not bad. Good design and execution. The quality is much better than I expected as well. Nice brown finish on the blade that only has a couple scuffs from going in and out of the sheath. Brown micarta handle feels good. The overall quality and perfection is not there to the extent ESEE has accomplished. But this is a very nice, useable knife.
The RD 7 has an 8" blade of 5160 steel that is noted for being very impact resistant and is coated brown. The thickness is 3/16" with an overall length of 13". Nice weight and balance. Comes in a brown Kydex sheath.
