i've had an ontario quartermaster for a couple years now and have been nothing but happy with it. given, its not the best quality knife for the money, but for forty bucks i am not going to complain. It is the knife that I take on my longer backpacking trips. It has always been dependable. It holds a decent edge and doesn't complain when it sits in the rain for a few days. It is the perfect size and weight to take the abuse that it gets. It has a quarter inch thick blade! So of course there are better quality knives out there. But for a knife that actually sees action, I don't think you can beat it for the price. Atleast for the quartermaster(never used any others).
