I'm in the marker for a new folder and have the Ontario in mind. I have some Kershaw's and love them but I want to try something different. I edc a Tenacious and swap it out with a Rat-1 sometimes and I was impressed with the Rat folder so I was thinking about giving the Utilitac II a try.

Does anyone have any info on how this knife performs?

Also, I am open to other suggestions in the Utilitac II's price range as well.

Thanks,
JD

the utilitac is great, try to get a hold of the utilitac II with the rounded handles and not the newer coffin shaped one.
even though it was a great knife and i had all 3 you mentioned i got rid of the utilitac. it was mehhhhh compared to the rat1 and tenacious (maybe im a sucker for the flat grinds)

i suggest you buy a buck vantage pro which is around the same price if youre looking for a new knife :)
or if youre looking for something to pound on maybe a cold steel american lawman?

Bought it awhile ago and was a bit disappointed.Expected to be better than the Rat 1 but it's not.

Thanks. I think I've about talked myself out of it. I'll be getting me a Buck Vantage next but I'm probably going to save up a lil more and get the Pro series in black.

I looked at the vantage. Can't move the pocket clip and the liner lock looks way to thin to me. Its a shame to, I really wanted to see how Buck would do S30V.
