ok, here we go, I have both models my 2 is combo edge and my 1 is PE. I think these knives are excellent and I use them [primarily for my job which is mechanic].

The steel is kinda unknown due to it's European origin and truth be told I don't know alot about it's properties but there have been a few threads about it recently that were very informative, if anyone can post them up here that'll be good.

My PC died and I can't post pics of mine but I love these knives and would really like it if Ontario could make an XM-3 which would be about 10 or 10.5" open / 5.5" or 6" closed. I think this would be truly awesome. G-10 scales will be nice to have as well because the Al scales are really the only drawback [slippery] to this knife.

My XM-2 has zero blade play itstarted to have an issue with vertical play so I took it apart and bent the Ti liner up [a good amount, but had to do it incrementally, took it apart 3X total] and now the lockup is SO tight I get hamburger thumb when releasing the lock ie the liner lock is hard to move but that suits me fine for the advantage gained. This is actually what sold me on Ti, the way it holds it's shape, it's a top choice or THE top choice for liners IMO.

I agree completely. I've got an XM-2 which I'm very fond of, but it could definitely use some G-10 scales. I may sent it to a maker and have come scales custom made for it.

Ontario has them they just keep it quiet [G-10 scales] I know this because I saw a prototype and it had G-10.

That or just use a wood burning tool (avail at hobby/craft stores for about $20 or less) & make your own handle a TON more grippy. I did this to my Becker BK2. It worked AWESOME ! My knife will never slip out of my hand now.

Thanks for stoppin by but the knife in question has Al [aluminum] scales. Good idea though and your BK looks great, but now it is possible that the knife can't be used for hours straight because the user's hand will get ripped up? I know it may not be a problem to you i'm just being knifegeeky.

This is something I do with with most all of my liner/frame lock knives. It is fine with me that it makes it harder to unlock, as I feel it makes it a bit safer from me accidentally unlocking it. On all that I've done this to I've never had the lockbar move further to the right than it di before I made the adjustment.
