the brown truck left me a present today and it was my zdp-189 caly 3 all i can say is Oh man this is honestly my favorite knife ever. and i have gone from CRKT to BM to Al Mar. and this is the single nicest best designed horrifingly sharp knife i have ever owned.

you sir are a troll and quite a rude one at that.

it is a well designed very ergonomic knife using what is arguably the best edge holding knife steel currently available

Love Mine. It's replaced (almost) every EDC in the rotation.

Congrats! You'll love the ZDP.

thats all your opinion, which differs from mine. if having a different opinion than you makes me a troll, then so be it.

Congratulations!! You're going to love it, a superb knife in every regard....

Builderman, if you figure out how they get that ZDP so remarkable sharp from the factory, please let me know. I'd not seen a knive as sharp as mine when I opened the box.

Very cool knife indeed!

biggest thing zdp-189 needs from my experiance is once all the stone/ceramic work is done is a good buffing on a felt wheel with a very high grit buffing compound. mine actually wasnt all that sharp when i got it but a quick buff by my boss and its now a true terror.

Mine's on its' way. A bud of mine got his last week and it's the first knife that I could ever actually "see" how sharp it was before ever cutting anything with it. My small Seb is very, very nervous...

I have one on the way too. I only wish they did not have the steel liners. I don't see the reason for liners other than for screw attachement points which could be done another way. Does it have a UKPK-like or a Caly clip?

after carrying it around yesterday i can honestly say im going to be hard pressed to replace this knife as my EDC. even with the steel liners it takes u so little pocket space and wieghs next to nothing. but when in the hand still has a nice heft and a very nice feel to it.

Builderman -
I received mine about 3-4 weeks ago and I could not agree more.
I wanted an EDC for business attire, so it must fit comfortably in a front pocket [no clipping onto my waist], but not be a wimp.
It fit the bill perfectly and is substantial enough to be a serious EDC [as opposed to the BM Benchmite - which I love - but it is too small for any serious cutting].
The ZDP is extremely sharp, has held a good edge and was easy to touch up with a diamond sharpner [after I dulled it a little cutting thick cardboard and a small branch].
It is so comfortable and handy that I carry it even when I am in non-business clothes along with mini-manix or large Seb that I clip to my waist.
While I am a big G10 fan for handles, the CF is "dressier" and I have had no grip issues.
Great knife!
Enjoy.
Barry

heh yeah mine is (if there is such a thing) almost to sharp. Jumped up and bit a good piece off the tip of my thumb. lucky for me since it is so sharp i didnt even feel it. heh...
