Once when I was young in the winter time, watching “Bill Dance” outdoors fishing and thinking about how I needed to clear some brush around the sweet spot at the pond for spring. Went down there with a cheap $5 machete and cut away a bunch of brush and branches. The pond was frozen solid, and being 14 years old I couldn’t resist the thoughts of throwing a big rock at the ice to see if I could break through, so I decided to stick the machete in the ground to free up my hands not thinking that the ground was frozen solid. The tip of the blade hit and stopped, and my hand kept going, cut the inside of the knuckle on my index finger to the bone and severed the artery. They had to sew the artery back together and then 6 more stitches to close it. I have had quite a few small cuts from pocket knives but that was the worst
