O'Neill Specs

• This has been a light kitchen use only knife. Well cared for and kept sharp. It is a really nicely sized knife for woodscraft and the like. It was never intended to be used other than in the kitchen so I did not get it with a sheath. As it is my wife prefers thin blade Japanese knives and this one never got much use unless I did the cooking (that's not a good story ). Rather than have it languish in a drawer I offer it here hoping it will find a good home.

• Flat ground blade in O1 steel hardened to RC-59 3/16" thick at the full tang.

• Coco Bolo handle with SS pins

• Measures 9" overall length with a 4-3/16" blade x 1-3/16" tall diminishing to the point

• Leather sheath is an aftermarket - horizontal carry style (cross draw) - that fits this knife well and holds it securely. The belt loop will fit up to a 2" belt.

• Though lightly used - exclusively
as a kitchen knife it started to develop stains/blemishes on the blade from food prep so I upped the patina for a nice overall color. The blade is treated with mineral oil.

HOOVER S.O.U.K. Specs - - By Joe's description - "S.O.U.K. or Special Operations Utility Knife was designed as a back up or primary utility knife for military, law enforcement personnel or the civilian that likes a tactical style knife."

• This is a heavy and very rugged small knife (1/4" thick) not so much a slicer as a steel busting tactical tool.

• THIS KNIFE IS SPARINGLY USED AND WELL CARED FOR It was was purchased by me directly from the maker. It has been lightly used as a camp knife - not tactical camping - and no field dress work, as it is not at all suited to that.

• The blade has been resharpened by me and will come sharp.

• The photos will show the evidence of use with some blemishes in the steel that were original to the knife.

• Steel- 1095 X 1/4 inch thick
• OAL- 8 1/4 inches
• Blade- 3 1/2 inches tip to plunge
• Grind- Flat with false edge and serrations
• Finish- Satin flats with polished convex edge
• Tang- Full tang was drilled with a pattern of holes for better knife balance, this balances on the forefinger.
• Handle- 4 1/4 inches
• Scales- Black linen micarta left grippy
• Hardware Stainless Corby Rivets and stainless lanyard tube
• Sheath - Kydex, made by me, is set up with a multi position carry clip for an 1-1/2" wide belt.

I consider these prices STUPID LOW for such quality knives but I am motivated to sell.

PAYPAL please goods or gift but you assume the risk for going gift.

POST HERE that you will take AND SEND PM - if you can't PM please provide your e-mail in your post.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers, Ray

With respect to the solid craftsmanship of Joe Hoover and Jack O'Neill you would be buying a well made hand crafted knife for $ 100.00 + a bit in fees. I can't say more than that.

REASONABLE OFFERS CONSIDERED. You'll get a better price if you buy both

Cheers - Ray

Yeah - should make a Joe Hoover fixed blade even more valuable. Thanks for the encouragement Jack. I've been feeling like I'm doing something wrong. How can these be overpriced?

Oh well, maybe it's the heat...
