I am looking at opening an online store selling knives and will be based in Illinois. I am aware of the law against selling automatic knives and selling to minors. Is there any other laws that would impact my business that I need to be aware of?

There are several state laws that apply to all sales with in the state even those of out of state sellers. Your state is the WORST offender for going after sellers from other states that offer items prohibited within your state. Generally autos, butterfly and daggers are the main issues, but take a look at the large national sellers and see there "no ship" list as they have had lawyers look closely at them. SMKW is a good one.
