Hi everyone,

I have been lurking for a while now and just wanted to say hello and how great this board is.

I finally received my mini manix in the mail about a week ago. This is my first knife and i am very pleased with it so far.

I find my self constantly practicing drawing and opening the knife.

How many times does everyone elese practice drawing and opening their knives each day? Is there any harm in this?

Hey, welcome to Blade Forums.

The mini Manix is easily one of my favorite folders. You made a very nice choice there for your first knife

I don't know how many people practice drawing/opening there folders (unless it's a wave :D), but if you use your mini Manix often like many of us do, it becomes a natural movement. I open the knife more to admire it than to practice the motion.

Anyway, congrats on your first knife. It will not be your last, guaranteed.

PS - Open it as much as you want, it won't hurt the mini Manix. The thing was born to take abuse.

I don't know if I would go so far as to call it practice, but any time I get a new knife, especially a folder, I play with it quite a bit and get a feel for how it comes out of my pocket and how I need to shift my hand to go from drawing to opening to the final grip. I guess you could call it practice, I've never really thought of it that way though. After a few days it tapers off as I get used to the knife. I just got a waved Delica on Wednesday and I think I'm going to be playing with that a little longer than usual because of the added opening options.

yea i flip mine out quite often. not in a place to draw attention, usually by myself. i like to admire the action on a good blade as well as for asethetic reasons
