Anybody know where I can get one of these?

And what do you think?

This is a link to a picture of one.

I picked one up on a trip to Seattle, WA last year. I had seen them at Smokey Mt. Knifeworks...they no longer carry them. I don't know where you can get one though, they seem to be pretty hard to get.

I like the knife; it's slimmer than the standard Opinel model, but just as handy.

I just looked at Tool Shop and they have a Bubinga handled Opinel that I would like to get. The problem with ordering at the Tool Shop is the shipping...$22.00. Too much for such an inexpensive knife. Does anybody know of a retailer that carries a full line of Opinel knives state-side? Or at least carries the Bubinga handled models? Thanks.

I have one of these, it is opf-10. It has a polished stainless blade with a walnut colored handle.I had a friend that owns a knife store order mine for me. He gets them from one of these two distributors. Moteng or Matthews. These are designed to be folding fish filet knives and I think they make a couple of sizes.

Have some specific dealers who I can call?

Here's the picture of the one I would like to locate. It is the same size as the model #8 or #6 (both are available).

David,

I have dealt with the Toolshop and it was a very pleasant experience. They replied to my e-mails promptly and the knife arrived when I expected it to. I think you will find that, for European manufactured items, their prices are better than you can get in the US.

I don't think you'll have any problems.

Take care,

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow....in Australia it's tomorrow already.
