Opinel Questions from a noob

That's a heck of a gesture Carl. Opinels are grand knives for the money, that are sort of no-frills working/utility knives. I have been carrying my 06 Opinel almost nonstop for the past few weeks, it's really all I need in a folder in all honesty. They'll take a scary sharp, sort of edge too, with little effort. They aren't something you'd want to use as a screwdriver or pry with, but they'll cut with the utmost authority.

Ive found some of the Okapi folders in the market, they look like fakes though unfortunately. I picked up a couple Okapi machetes and they are awesome. Orange handled (molded plastic) and tough as nails.

Sorry if this is too off-topic, but... Have you seen any Okapi knives in Africa? They're made in South Africa, so I'd be curious to learn whether the folks in the region where you are have heard of them.
