Opinel?

Thanks Bob, I came to the same conclusion after doing some google conversions. I'm still wondering where they get the numbers from.

I've carried a modern one hand opening knife for many years, but since getting these Opinels, I have noticed that the two hand opening sets a different mood for the cutting task at hand. Sort of reflective and purposeful.

They are crazy good slicers and fun to mod. And as an added benefit an Opinel has improved my diet as I find myself sitting down with an apple (instead of chips) so I can use my knife. :)

I agree completely.

Yes more purposeful indeed

Anyone have any love for the "slim" Opinels?

Im thinking about spending a few bucks on an Opinel. I don't know anything about them, but I found out about them on this site and I just think they look kind of cool. I was thinking about getting one to keep in my lunchbox so I could have a knife for any food cutting I need done at work?

Anyways, what's with all the numbers and what are the differences in them? Is there a specific one I should be after?

If you are still wondering what is the best size Opinel for your needs? I just uploaded a video, hoping to give a visual of the differences between the #6 through #10. I was unable to find them locally and had to order my first one and found it difficult to decide which one I wanted to order, sight unseen.

I recently bought 1/2 a dozen #7s to give as gifts (engraved blades) to my family members. My mother really liked hers!! She plans on using it for pruning her roses.
