Pretty cool looking design. For rope work, I might have done a slight serration, something that doesn't grab but still uses teeth, much like the RAT Cutlery serrations. Very cool design though. If it is not JUST for rope work, I'd say leave them the way they are. Very good looking knives.

How does the rubber handle feel wet? Is it still good and grippy? What kind of rope work will they do? What is the scenerio and environment?

What sort of rope work? Depending on what situation the knife would be used maybe a tip like that of the Spydero Rescue would be better. But, that all depnds on the intended use.

The rubber handle is the most comfortable material I have ever used in a handle. Its a hard type of rubber meant for high traffic stales and aerobic room floors. Has a very good wet grip. Easy to do also.
These knives are going to a Yacht club and will be used in salt water. cutting rope, bait, what ever. I think I'll put serrations on the first half of the blade and leave the point clean. I forgot to add that there will be a marlin spike in the kydex sheath also.

After looking at these in the sun light I realized they need a few more passes on the buffer.

Good lookin' knives, I've always had a soft spot for wharnies. Good to know they'll be real users rather than just sit in a drawer.

The handle looks very comfortable. I don't like that many pins in the handle, but the knife looks ok overall.

First of all, you asked. I like the shape of the knife, handle and blade. But the number of pins is distracting and takes away from the knives. Your eyes are drawn to the pins, at least mine are. I would think that you would want someone looking at the whole knife. Not wondering why so many pins.
Just my .02, I know, not worth much.
James

Just for an example, this is my most used knife. It is also probably the best rope/rigging knife out there.

That said, the one thing I would change is the handle. A comfortable rubber handle would be perfect.
The tip on your first group may be dangerous on a rolling boat. The edge on those looks perfect in my opinion.
Just my thoughts, take them for what they are worth.

James Todd, I ask for opinions so yours is valid. I actually cut down on the number of pins I normally use. :)

protourist thanks for posting that pic. I see my design is not that different. Not putting scales on the handle allows a shackle wrench to be milled in the tang. I hadn't thought of that, however I still like the rubber scales best.
