Hello,

There is a BF Member that has a knife that I want. Unfortunately I didn't find out about the fact that this was an overseas 'adventure' until recently. The Member has outstanding numbers (97/0/0) but buying a flipper from overseas concerns me. What's the considered opinion? Even if I pay with G&S I can still get shafted correct? Thanks!

Hey man, i live in Cyprus (Europe) and i buy a lot of my knives from BF and Reddit in USA. My understanding is that the country of the involved parties doesn't change anything. You are covered the same way you would be if buying domestically. The only issue would be if the seller states that the shipping risk is on the buyer if internationally (or the buyer offers to accept the risk), in which case there would be a written proof that relieves the seller from the responsibility.
**As i mentioned before, that is my understanding, without being familiar with the legal side of the things.

For what it’s worth, I’ve bought knives from the US and all over the world (I’m in the UK) and when buying from an individual, there is always a chance of being stung. But generally and I suppose due to our hobby being fairly niche, 99.99999% of people I’ve dealt with have been totally honest and decent to deal with.

The only problem seems to arise with customs and shipping taking a while.

From this perspective it’s frustrating how few individuals are willing to ship outside of the CONUS, although I can understand why to a degree.
