Opinion On Serial Numbers

From the buyer perspective, serial numbers are definitely adding to individual "cool factor" to each knife and there is no harm of doing so, as far as serial numbers are made professionally in unobtrusive manner with small size digits... Recently I received one of my knives from Russian Kyzliar manufacturer and these guys are marking some of their models very nice and professional way with serial numbers

I've numbered my knives since I started. Didn't put much thought into it. Stamped my initials on the tang, the stamp kit had numbers in it so I stamped the #s on the other side. Now, 167 knives later, I can't imagine not doing it. Easy way to keep track of specs, steel, heat treat process, finish date, who bought it, etc. None of my customers have said anything negative about them being numbered, and recently had a customer tell me they want #200 when I get to it. In my opinion the benefits of numbering out way the negatives.
