Hey everyone,

I just picked this Small Sebenza Classic up and had a few questions on the finish. It's not the usual sandblasted finish, it's very smooth, almost like it was stonewashed.

Here is is next to my Small Sebenza 21 Micarta.

And here is the lockside. The scales are marked inside C 02. Any thoughts?

I would say someone has applied a scotchbrite finish to it. My 25is like this some people like it some don't it doesn't show scratches as much but it is a little less grippy than the factory finish.

That is kind of what I was thinking. But it is so evenly done that I'm not sure how they would have got every single place on that knife to look uniform.

Mine looks pretty uniform but I didn't do it so I can't really answer your question.

That's about what mine looks like. Well that was an even question to have answered. lol. Now to decide if I want to send it in to the spa :/

Scotchbrite is one possibility, well carried is the other. These are fairly old and my small Classic MM micarta is pretty much metal with a bit of patina.

Thanks for the info! I do like the look. The one thing I don't like is the scratched blade.

Do you know if the stone washing will get these out or if they buff them out at the factory?

It's a user, those "scratches" are charachter.

If CRK can't/won't fix the blade, you can always send it to Josh @ REK, he can re-finish the handles to as good as factory fresh, and give you some options on the blade depending on the depth of the scratches.
