Opinions about Botach Tactical?

Did any one had the experience with Botach Tactical? they seens has good prices on their knives. Please provide the good or bad information about them. Thanks !
 
They are complete idiots. I placed an order for a Sure-Fire 6Z, the holster and some batteries. One night at about 3:30 AM I get a call, but ignore it and keep sleeping. The next morning, I look at my caller ID, and see that it's frickn Botach that called (they're in the same time zone as me!). One of their sales people left me a message that they double shipped my order. When I call back, and speak to that person, he has no recollection of me, or the double shipped order. Is ask, if there's another person by the same name, and he says no. He looks up my order, and indeed finds it's been double shipped.

A few days later, I recieve two boxxes from Botach, both containing my order (front desk of the residence hall signed for them). Botach expects me to ship on back on my own coin, taking my own damn time to go to the post office. After much to do via email (so I have it in writing) and on the phone, we come to an agreement, so I am not out any money. I ship the extra stuff back to them, with a copy of our email conversation, and a request that they email me when they recieve the package to verify that everything is okay, and I've been charged what I was supposed to.

A week goes by, and I hear nothing from them. I send the sales person an email (with our entire email conversation attached), asking if he recieved the return merchanise. Another week goes by and I get an email back from him "We already shipped your order." I was like what the F!? Did they ship it again? It turns out they're just real big idiots, 'cause I had to go to my bank and track what they had charged, and credited me. It worked out in the end, but what a freaking headache. I'll never buy from them again.

Their prices are indeed good. However, their staff are complete idiots. It took several phone calls to just to CONFIRM my order. Every sales person I talked to had a different answer to the same question. I did get my merchandise, though. If you do use them, I would take names down and write down what they said. I asked for a supervisor when I had a problem and he handled it okay.

Knifecenter of internet is another one of these kinda not-so-great operations. It took them over a month and a half to get me the right merchandise that I already paid for.

Internet storefronts are really a mixed bag. Patrick Ma of Triple Aught is the very best I've ever dealt with. Just goes to show that a good internet storefront can exist and makes you wonder about the excuses from the other ones.
 
I ordered a Streamlight Scorpion from them on a Sunday, never received a UPS tracking number after a few tries both by phone and email. I received it on Thursday of that week! They have some really lame people skills when handling their customers, but they do have very competitive pricing. For another view, see

I had ordered a Mission MPK Ti standard (11")
from them, but when I received it I felt something wrong. They sent me a pup MPK (10") insteaded of standard. I did not know if this was their intendtion to fool me or not, the MPK I received was wraped in a Feddex plastic sack in a cardboard box without any factory packaging and information statement.
Thus, I returned it to Botach and e mail to them couple days ago, until now I am not received a word from them.

I've ordered from them 6 or 8 times and only had one minor problem. My experience has been that when your items are in stock, everything goes smoothly. Fast shipping, low prices, no problems. However, if your order requires any special attention whatsoever, such as a return, out of stock, etc, it will be a total screw-up. I always email first to see if what I want is in stock, and they reply promptly.

BTW, they're having a big sale right now.
 
Yup, similar experience here -- good prices, inept customer service. In my case, I placed a COD order with expedited delivery service. The on screen order record showed a delivery amount, but not a separate COD charge. I wrote to customer service asking if the order total shown did indeed include the COD fee. They wrote back saying that a formal order confirmation would follow the next day. Sure enough, the order confirmation arrived via e-mail in the AM & showed the same total so that is the amount of the MO I bought.

UPS shows up and asks for an amount that is $5 more than the MO. UPS won't accept cash and, since Botach specifies certified funds only, I couldn't give them a check to make up the difference. I had to refuse delivery and purchase a second MO. The delivery delay, extra expense, and inconvenience would have been avoided if I had received a direct and correct answer to my simple question.

Same here......I just ordered a wad of 3 volts for the SureFire's last week...i cannot get anyone to email with a status of my order.....How stinkin' hard is it to reply to email!

I placed an order for a Luminox 3201 and three Princeton tech Blasts around 1:00am on Wednesday. The next day I called to make sure that they had my order and that there were no problems. I spoke to a guy at cs and he informed me that they were out of Blasts in od but had them im black. I told him that wouldn't be a problem. Later in the afternoon I got two calls from the same employee regarding the same issue.

I recieved my order today and overall am quite happy. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.

I've only had one order with them before (and one pending)..........so far my experience has been good...........but from what I've heard.......make sure your item is in stock before you order !!!.........otherwise......order at your own risk.

I ordered from these guys in November of 1999. My item came slightly used looking and it was obvious that little (or big) hands were in the box before me. In addition the collectors case was slightly scratched and marred. A little cleaning and everything was sort of O.K. I chaulked it up to getting a good price.....but it was a little aggravating. I called about the scratches and they offered a convoluted plan to get a replacement, which I declined. I had no further dealings with them since, even though they e-mail and solicit all the time. If they had sent a new item in the first place, maybe I would still be a customer.

Well, as anyone could see I've had variable experiences with Botach. My first order was an absolute disaster, the answers to my questions changed everytime I spoke to someone new. My second order which included 2 Streamlight Batonlights went off more smoothly but with one caveat. The caveat is that they provided me a tracking number but autodirected me to the wrong shipper (fedex instead of UPS). I'll probably deal with Botach again, they are getting better (as predicted).
